Logged into facebook for the first time for a while

what the fuck happened?

Turns out I didn’t even have to do half of the geography I stayed up so late to work on

Also, why is it that the best insult any American I talk to can come up with is ‘faggot’? If anything, that word makes me laugh when Americans say it, it just sounds hilarious!

Heck a faggot in this country is a ball of meat made from pork offal, so what exactly is the problem. Essentially if an American calls you a faggot, they are calling you a meatball. I see no problem with this.

Bit of a strange topic for a rant, but I’ve seen weirder stuff on here.

Band rant: Why not Wales?

Firstly, I’d like to thank a dear friend for this topic. Should be a challenge as I don’t have any experience in going to gigs (well, not really) and the only band I’ve actually considered seeing is actually coming to Wales.

But yet, I can see what she means. Why would a band, lets say and American band, come to Britain, tour England and Scotland (possibly even Nortern Ireland) and miss out Wales altogether? (I’m going to assume that my friend had a particular band in mind, but I don’t know who)

It’s not as if Wales doesn’t exist! I mean there may be more fans in England, but that’s only because there are a fuck load more people in England. And Scotland? Seriously? Who the fuck goes to Scotland? I’ve been there and I can tell you now it isn’t anything special.

Obviously it would make more sense for the band to tour England, it’s the only country in the U.K. they’ll have heard of if they’re American, because they can play more venues and such. But you cannot simply ignore Wales. There are fans here too! It’s hardly fair to have to make them travel a ridiculous distance to see the band, pay for tickets and pay for travel. If they came to Wales, not only could the band connect with their Welsh fans but they would then goin a stronger fan base. If they only played in England and not Wales then fans may be put off by this. I mean, buying the band’s music from itunes or buying the CD is all well and good, but I’ve heard from friends and various other sources that there is nothing quite like seeing the band live. Which is why I really want to go and see Reel Big Fish in Cardiff this half term (if I have any money left :/). I want to be a part of the experience, and Cardiff isn’t that far away from where I live so the fact that they are coming to Cardiff is actually one of the main reasons for me going. It’s because i would be able to get there. I can’t remember all the tour dates off-hand but I’m sure the next closest gig was in Birmingham, which if you don’know is a three hour drive. After that, I wouldn’t be bothered to do anything, let alone go to a gig.

Avoidance of Wales. This has got to stop.
